Wellness

Our district has a wide variety of programs and initiatives in place to support the well-being of our students. At the heart of our offerings are our school counselors. At La Entrada, Jennifer Montalvo works with the upper elementary students in grades 4 and 5 and half of the sixth-grade class. Vivian Tavernakis supports half of our sixth-grade class and students in grades 7 and 8.

School counselors are essential to our student's success. Sometimes, students may need individual counseling to help them work through anxiety, stress, or grief. Our counselors are there for them and are exemplary. They work with parents and serve as a bridge between home and school, whether creating a plan to help either child social-emotionally and academically or assisting families in finding resources they may need. Our counselors are caring individuals who always have their eye on our students on campus in case a child needs extra support.

Our district has a variety of schoolwide social-emotional learning activities around self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, conflict resolution, and coping skills,  all of which our school counselors lead.
