Stepping into the role of Principal at La Entrada is both a joy and a genuine daily privilege. From the moment I arrived 3 years ago, I felt the energy and heart of this community—students who are eager to learn, families who show up with tremendous care, and educators who pour their talents into creating meaningful learning experiences. It’s clear that La Entrada is a place where students are encouraged to be curious, to take on challenges, and to grow in ways that matter both academically and personally.
My professional journey has taken me through a variety of school settings—from teaching Spanish and Heritage Spanish in San Francisco and Redwood City high schools, to supporting students and teachers as a dean at Woodside Middle School, and later serving as a Vice Principal at Oceana High School in Pacifica. Each chapter has shaped the way I approach school leadership: I believe belonging is the foundation for learning, rigor should inspire rather than overwhelm, and instruction must feel relevant to students’ lives. When those elements come together, young people flourish.
One of the things that drew me to La Entrada is how beautifully our programs reflect those beliefs. Students here experience rich, thoughtfully designed math pathways; a cohesive, schoolwide approach to writing; and core academic classes that spark deep thinking. Our wide array of electives—from world languages and visual and performing arts to music, leadership, and STEM—gives students chances to discover interests, build confidence, and develop new talents. And outside the classroom, our clubs, lunchtime activities, Outdoor Ed, and spirited school traditions help students feel connected, welcomed, and excited to come to school each day.
When I’m not on campus, you’ll often find me traveling with my husband, tending to my garden, meeting up with friends, or lifting at the gym. I also love visiting my family in Las Vegas whenever I get the chance. Those moments keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of community—something I value deeply here at La Entrada.
I approach this work with a strong belief in the power of relationships. When students know they belong, when they feel supported to take risks, and when learning is both challenging and purposeful, they grow in extraordinary ways. My goal is to champion those conditions every day. I hope you’ll meet with me to share your thoughts, your hopes for our school, or simply to say “hola” when you’re on campus.
I’m thrilled to partner with you in continuing to make La Entrada a place where every Leopard can learn boldly, grow confidently, and shine brightly.

Tish Whiteley,
Assistant Principal

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of La Entrada School and a proud member of this vibrant and caring school community. I feel deeply grateful to work alongside our dedicated educators, supportive families, and remarkable students who make La Entrada such a special place to learn and grow.
The 2025–26 school year marks my 13th year in education. Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of serving as a 4th and 5th grade classroom teacher, an Instructional Coach at a neighboring middle school, and now as an Assistant Principal. Each of these roles has shaped my belief that learning thrives when students feel a strong sense of belonging and are supported to take risks, reflect, and grow. I am especially passionate about creating learning experiences that are meaningful, engaging, and relevant for all students.
I am a relationship-centered educator who believes that strong relationships are the foundation of thriving school communities. When students feel seen and valued, they develop the confidence and courage to stretch themselves academically and socially. As a school leader, I strive to cultivate spaces where belonging fuels bravery and growth is ongoing—for students, staff, and families alike.
I look forward to partnering with our La Entrada community, building strong relationships, and supporting each student as they continue to learn, grow, and discover their strengths.
