Challenging Academics That Inspire
La Entrada is known for strong, engaging academics that meet students where they are and help them reach new heights. Our students consistently perform well above state standards in English Language Arts, mathematics, and science, and our teachers work closely together to make learning purposeful, rigorous, and exciting. A few academic highlights include:
Enhanced Mathematics Pathways
Students benefit from thoughtfully designed math pathways that allow them to advance at a pace that matches their readiness. Instruction focuses on deep understanding, problem-solving, and applying math to real-world situations—helping students build both confidence and strong foundational skills.

A Schoolwide Focus on Writing
Across grade levels, students learn to craft clear, compelling writing—whether they’re drafting analytical essays, building arguments, or expressing their ideas creatively. Writing instruction is intentionally aligned from 4th through 8th grade so students grow steadily in organization, voice, evidence-based reasoning, and revision skills.

Electives and Enrichment for Every Interest
One of the things families love most about La Entrada is the incredible range of electives and enrichment opportunities available to students. Leopards can explore:
-
Visual and Performing Arts
-
World Languages (Spanish, Latin, and Mandarin for the 2025-26 school year)
-
Robotics and STEM-focused classes (coming soon!)
-
Music & band
-
Leadership and service roles
-

-
A growing list of clubs—from Model UN and Robotics to Culture Club, GSA, and Kindness Ambassadors
Whether students want to try something new or dive deeply into a passion, our electives and activities help them discover strengths they didn’t even know they had.
A Well-Rounded Experience
Learning at La Entrada extends far beyond the classroom. We believe middle school should be a time when students feel connected, supported, and excited to come to school each day.
You’ll find:
-
Friday Fundays and lunchtime intramurals
-
Welcoming “hangout” spaces and clubs during lunch
-
Outdoor Education for 5th graders
-
Spirit days, service projects, assemblies, pep rallies, and celebrations
-
Caring adults who foster belonging and encourage students to take healthy risks
- Academic and mental health counseling services
Our goal is simple: to help students grow into thoughtful, capable, well-rounded young people who are ready for the opportunities ahead.
Families as Partners
La Entrada thrives because of a strong, collaborative partnership with our families. Parents volunteer in classrooms, support events, lead lunchtime activities, read to students as part of the ABC Volunteers program, participate in PTA, and help make our campus a warm, connected community. Families are an essential part of what makes our school special—and we’re grateful for the energy and care they bring.
